File Copy in Windows

Windows Vista seems to be improved its File Copy operation in SP1 according to Mark's Blog. Instead of using the traditional 64kb cached mode file read/write operation for all copy operation, now the file copy engine dynamically calculates the size of the buffer and copies in either cached or non-cached mode based on the destination.

If you are using Windows XP or Windows 200x then you can get the same benefit by using an open source project – Copy Handler.

I have been using this tool for more than one year. Apart from the faster copy operation it also supports pause, restart operations also.
