Solving Transcend T-Sonic MP3 Player Boot Problem

Last week, my Transcend T-Sonic 610 MP3 player started giving problem – initially it was not properly charging; and it stopped working one day – It was hanging in the boot screen with the message “T-Sonic Family Initializing…”. The player was detected by WinXP when plugged in to a USB port, however not able to access any file or folder.

I thought it was some hardware problem and since the player was under warranty, I decided to go to Transcend Service Center to repair it. But I couldn’t find the address of Transcend Service Center in Bangalore. Googled to find address of Transcend service center and landed in http://www.transcendusa.com/Products/ModDetail.asp?ModNo=71. After downloading and reading the user manual, I decided to upgrade my firmware.

Since I didn’t know my old firmware version, I decided to install first V3.1 and then V3.4. Downloaded them from Transcend website. http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/Driver/610V31.exe
http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/Driver/T610V34.rar

The installation guide was good and installation went fine; however firmware v3.1 update failed with some message. I tried upgrade to v3.4 firmware and it succeeded with ease.

Now my player is got its life back and working perfectly. If your player also has boot problem try firmware update.
